If you have exported a model from RealityCapture, edited it inside of a 3rd party software, saved it as a new file and you wish to import it back into RC for further processes, you will need to use the following workflow to get it back correctly.
While exporting a model from RC, the .rcInfo file is created next to it. This file stores information about the position of the model in the scene. Not having this file and importing the model back might result in a shifted position and scale.
Let’s say you have a model called “yyy.obj“ with “yyy.obj.rcInfo” file and after editing the model, you have saved the new file called “zzz.obj“.You need to create a copy of the .rcInfo file and name it according to the new .obj file, therefore the .rcInfo for your “zzz.obj” will be “zzz.obj.rcInfo”
If you move/rotate/scale the object meanwhile (either in RC or in the other software), the model will not fit correctly after importing.
