It is possible to combine datasets of different origin, like DSLR camera, drone camera, lasers scans etc. into one component in RealityCapture.
In this tutorial you will see how four different datasets can be combined into a one component. One dataset was created using a terrestrial laser scans, and other datasets were made using camera drone or were acquired from the ground with the camera. Each of these datasets was acquired at a different time, which varies in months, and they were still able to combine.
Few components were created, and this tutorial will teach you have to combine these components into one. Two methods were used here to combine them together, one with control point, when there is not enough overlap between images, and the other without the use of control points.
After all components were combined, you can see how to manually resize your reconstruction region to contain only the desired part of your dense point cloud. This way, only the desired part is going to be reconstructed.
After the reconstruction is done, you may have some unwanted mesh parts. This tutorial will also show you how to select and filter those parts. After your mesh is in a desired form, you are ready to texture it. You will see how to disable images, that you do not want to be used during the texturing process and use only the images with the higher quality.
