After Capturing Reality joined the Epic Games family, we have updated our pricing and licensing plans, reducing costs for both new and existing customers.
We also had to make a few changes in regards to our account system. Below you can find answers to some questions you might have about these changes.
How to create a new account?
All new accounts have to be created using the Epic Games sign-in option here.
All accounts created using our old registration form, or via Facebook/Google/Steam sign-in, will continue to exist but will be considered legacy accounts. You can continue to use them, however, you won't be able to make any further purchases on these accounts. New pricing terms will be available to you after migrating your existing account to an Epic Games Account.
How to migrate my account to Epic Games account?
You need to sign in to your account here and follow the migrating steps. The wizard will guide you through the whole process.
If you are already signed in, just navigate to the section Account Migration (https://www.capturingreality.com/my.account.transfer) and follow the steps.
Please note that accounts registered directly via email and Google/Facebook/Steam accounts using the same email address are separate accounts. You need to migrate them individually after signing in with the proper method.
Can I migrate more legacy accounts into one Epic account?
Yes, you can. You can merge all previously created Capturing Reality accounts into one Epic Games account and gather all licenses and PPI credits under one account. To do so, you need to sign in with each legacy account here https://www.capturingreality.com/My, choose Account Migration and sign in to your Epic Games account.
What happens to my current license?
Your active license will be migrated to your Epic Games account as it is.
What happens to my already purchased PPI credits?
All available PPI credits along with the non-expired PINs will be transferred to your Epic Games account.
Do I need to license my inputs with PPI credits again after migrating the account?
No. All hashes for already licensed images and/or laser scans with PPI credits are automatically transferred to your new Epic Games account. These licenses for your inputs are stored on our servers for 2 years from the day of licensing. If you wish to store them for a longer period, you have to export them and store them locally. To do so, load the inputs into the application and export the license file via Workflow – Export – Input licenses.
Do I need to create PIN codes for PPI licensing again with Epic Games account?
All non-expired PIN codes for PPI licensing from your legacy account will be transferred to your new Epic Games account after migrating.
Do I need to activate my license again after migration?
Yes, you need to activate your license again using your new Epic Games account.
