In this article we will mention some solutions for unusual problems which appear in RealityCapture.
RestartByRestart manager
Mostly, the error ''RestartByRestartManager'' shows up when RealityCapture is not closed traditionally. The most common reasons is PC resetting due to Windows updates, or hardware overheating. Please check if the PC has been restarted during this calculation and make sure that your system clock is set correctly. Was Autosave enabled? If yes, you can click on the model in 1Ds view, and click on Continue button there to continue reconstruction of that model.
You can try this workflow:
1. reinstalling and updating Nvidia drivers,
2. removing cache (navigate to you cache location and remove the cache folder)
3. "make it like a clean install" (this will reset your settings to default in the process):
In order to do that:
- Shift + Double LeftMouseClick on RealityCapture icon
- From drop-down select make it like a clean install and press ok
- Then try again
Also, it is possible, that you are trying to align some images and it resulted to this error. Then check, if your path file name is not too long (like in this example: D:\BUGS\Long_path\1\Two\3\Cetyre\Sinco\End\Not_now\And_what_now\We_will_see\Another_one\How_much\I_dont_know_which_one_is_this\One_more\AndAgain\It_wasnt_ebough\Not_ebough_but_enough\We_will_see_now\What_are_you_hiding)
Aligning images - Operation failed
When you are trying to align your images or save your project and you got Operation failed error, then you should check, how does look your name in Epic Games account. When you have there some non-Latin letters, this could be a reason of the failure.
So, all you need to do is change your Epic Games account name to one with Latin letters (this should be solved in next release).
You entered an invalid account email or password in last try
When you are trying to log in with your Epic Games account and after closing the window in the browser you see this error, there is what you can try.
Install the latest version of RealityCapture by downloading the installation file from our site.
Any kind of VPN plugin/software may be disrupting the connection to our servers.
Make sure that a default browser is chosen in the Windows settings.
In the Windows Features the 'Internet Explorer 11' option should be enabled and add these pages to IE mode: https://www.capturingreality.com and https://capturingreality.com
Also make sure that the communication with capturingreality.com and www.capturingreality.com is enabled on ports 80 (HTTP) and 443 (HTTPS) in your firewall. And add *.capturingreality.com into the Trusted Sites zone in the Internet Options control
Also, please reset all zones zones to default level as it is on this image (there you can see the option for adding trusted sites):
