Autosave and/or can we force a save mid reconstruction
Planned
Hey all,
For the last update someone from CR said that if someone was mid-reconstruction they could abort the process, save the file, exit RC, upgrade and restart the same task to continue from where they aborted from.
For whatever reasons I typically have my computer completely fail at 50-95 percent completion rate for high reconstructions on 1k/20MP images or more. My computer reboots sans message or warning, only happens in RC. Point is, I have to start over from the start of a 10+ hour process every time and it is killing me.
Can the above be implemented at some point as an autosave? If I abort a high recon a few hours in, save the project, and start the same task again would I be able to pick up roughly from that spot if my computer spontaneously reboots? I'd be saving a lot of wasted energy and time and would be able to hone in on my issue a bit better.

I'd like to amen the request for a save option mid-stream during reconstruction or any other operation in RC. To the extent the data generated during an operation is incrementally saved to cache, an abort followed by running again isn't starting from scratch, but the ability to stop mid-stream and save the state isn't just about not starting from scratch (or the perception of that). It's about the freedom to run time-consuming operations only when it's convenient, like at night, allowing user to work in RC hands-on during the day or free up system resources whenever they might be needed elsewhere.
