    Yes, you are correct when decimating the UVs are lost like in almost any sw that do simplify-decimation.

    the vertex color is transfered even do simplify..

    Thanks ... it is what I thought...
    I was woundering if it would be able to use a decimation technic like the MeshLab filter "quadric edge collapse decimation (with texture)" which decimates the model and keep the texture...

    yes understand what need to solve but depending on model the simplification can quite heavy change the geometry of mesh so the UVs could get heavy distorted. so its easier to do it from "scratch" per model as get in issues.
    still the UNWRAP and txtring is quite fast in latest versions
