    Which variables are involved in deciding if its advisable or not? :-)

    For example, I've just processed something relatively flat with the images ETTR (in focus and properly framed). Came out noisy.
    I modified the images bumping down the exposure, bumping up the contrast and results are far better. In agisoft images ideally would have to be ETTR, maybe in capturing reality this isnt the case?

    Again, it is about experience - sometimes it can be used, sometimes it does not help too much. In principle of how photogrammetry works, it helps but you need to be cautious about not getting NOISE as a result...
