About EXIF Data
Answered
Hi, just to know if exif data are used in the Alignement / Reconstruction process and if it's the case, wich data are vital to speed up those process (I filter pictures with different script destroying the exif data but use also script to retransfert those exif data from original shots).

Hi acheljay2
EXIF data will NOT speed up the alignment or reconstruction step. they are NOT mandatory.... -
Ok, many thks so I don't need to transfer those datas from original pictures to manipulated ones.

You need EXIF data. Camera/Lens etc, used for triangulation initial setup.
GPS data also can be used in triangulation (camera alignment).
But all this is not speed up process, just used in different "stages".
But what script you using if it destroy EXIF data?
Lightroom, Photoshop (even exposure bracketing merge scripts), DxO, all of them preserve EXIF data. -
algorithms used in a script made by a collegue for his PHD, bur found that I can transfer the exif data from the originals to the processed pictures (the script unlight at best each pictures).

Thks, but a collegue code yesterday a script in python to transfer original exif to the new pictures in batch ;-) taking all the pictures in a directory to apply to pictures in another.
