bump maps from different resolution meshes
So If I make a very high resolution mesh (for example 35m faces)
Then smooth/simplify that down to 1m or less... 100k maybe?
I want to use texture to make the surface look fully featured.
Even better if we could use the differences between the meshes to make bump/occlusion maps!
(select two meshes and make a bump map for the shape of the high detail mesh onto the featureless(*) low poly mesh)
Worth a thought anyway

Looks like this is a somewhat more detailed suggestion in the vein of:
Displacement maps
Should I plus one there and delete this? That talks about a bunch of different maps though.
Whichever is best...
