    Hi Chris MacLean

its about algos and they pack it from down to up :D

if use say 16k txtr resolution try set 8 or 4 k it will fill better the UV space. and if use it for Fullbody then the 8k res should be OK in almost all cases ( own experience )

Thanks, Are you guys planning on adding different algorithms for this? Of course we could always export, re-layout and then bring the model back in but it would be nice to do it all in one package.

This is fine for 2k image deliverables but in the VFX world we are starting to deal with 4k and 6k film resolutions which means any extra detail we can squeeze out the better:)

    Hi Chris MacLean

for now its as it is usefull for many use cases, as you know best possible results can get from custom UVs, no auto tool can do it better :D

Hope you use image dowscale 1x on texturing before do UNWRAP.
But form my experience last month on movie set the resolution is very good and it depend on properly set fullbody scanner. Even with 90 microns per pixel can put in one 8 k txtr.

If interested send me one dataset to milos.lukac@capturingreality.com so we can talk more specific what can be done..
