Point cloud import and development roadmap
Answered
Hello,
I have a E57 point cloud file cleaned and optimized in CloudCompare, now with RC 1.0.2.2091 i can import the point cloud, but in CC there is something like 15'280'000 points, and when is imported in RC(RC max points to display is 30'000'000)result is around 5'000 points(very sparse and unusable cloud).
Is there some tuning that i miss, or maybe are you working to an update that let RC use E57 from CC (not directly export from scanner software)for a better alignement and quality mesh, or this is not considered in the development roadmap?
Can you tell us something about your development roadmap? Not release dates of course, just the topics and the priorities.
Thank you.

Have you tried reconstructing after alining, as the it is not a sparse pointcloud you are seeing but the tie points

Yes.
RC work with Preview model (very bad and full of holes), but for example in normal mode don't work.
Other point clouds reconstruction don't are so sparse. -
Hi Wilfried Bonato
Yes, the PREVIEW reconstruction uses ONLY the feature points from alignment results, so it’s very low quality.
If you use normal-high (for laser data you will get the same results) mode reconstruction, then RC will use all the point cloud data..
Can you post a screenshot of the normal mode reconstruction and the mentioned fail ??
