How to view really big Models ?
Answered
Hi all,
Can you please recommend how to present to other pepole online and offline really big models ?
I'm talking about 3000 pics and after decimation (simplify tool) with High Res Texture and 100M triangles.
I can make less but the project is really big (on the ground and underground - size of 200x200 Meter).
For cloud compare its really heavy even if my PC is Strong.
Online - as Cloud Compare also limited >> OpenGL crashes even with 5M Triangles in HD res of 8 Textures 8K pics.
Can you recommend about a dynamical rendering as Bently has or the Potree engine but simple so I could send my clients to view ? and better it will be free :)

Hi Yoz, i dont know if i can help you, why dont try a free engine.
I scanned an Urban area (aprox 2500 pix) minimum 150x150m, simpliyed to 4M, exportet wit 11 8K textures,
and loaded in Steam/Destinations. Walking around the Urban area with my HTC Vive VR Headset at smooth 90fps.
Or export to Sketchfab direct from RC ? -

Sketchfab's current limit is 500MB per upload (with a Business account): https://sketchfab.com/plans -
We have built a solution for this, however only offering as a web service at the moment.
Essentially you can view an entire city in your browser with 15-30cm accuracy in realtime (as example).
You simply upload your model, watch it convert and within minutes you can view, examine and share your result.
Obviously a big model will take time to upload but on the plus you share the model instantly rather than send non-interactive fly throughs.
Pricing is being finalised but its mostly geared for enterprise customers right now.
Currently in beta and will be making some big announcements soon (partnerships with leading VR manufacters too).
You can message me and I can provide details.
