    Hi Hamish,

there was a similar error report recently - did you check that out?

Maybe there is a real bug afoot somewhere...

Hi Götz - I did a search but the generic error message return several things that weren't the same and one report that could be but the OP didn't get back to a request for further info.

The generic nature of the error message means its hard to know whether it is the same or not.

Feel there must be more info recorded somewhere that could help diagnose - but where?

    Hi Hamish,

unfortunately, I am 99% certain that there is no such documentation available!      ...yet?

All you can do is try to catch their attention, which works better in bug reports.

And also, if you use CLI you should be entitled to official technical support, so I would try the contact form as well...

I know it's a bit late, but each time I had this error message I deleted all the cached files (capturing reality cache) and restarted the reconstruction and it worked.

Ideally don't run any program that display some 3d while reconstructing (I feel it can crash the program sometimes)

If the reconstruction crashes because of a full disk, delete your cache and restart reconstruction.

    Hi Gaurard,

it's never too late for goos advice!  :-)

Would you include browsers in you recommendation? They might use some 3D, especially with Sketchfab or similar...

    Hi Gaudard,

Thanks for this. I'd forgotten I'd posted this. I had the same issue again recently and had an exchange with support on the matter. Advice given was to increase the size of the region slightly, and change its angle, and try again.

I did that and got a nearly complete build, with only a few parts missing, but didn't save and lost the whole thing to a crash.

On the next attempt I ran out of cache space.

I did finally get there, without errors and within available cache space.

I have a GPU with no monitor attached, I hope that makes a crash caused by other software displaying 3D less likely.

    Hi Hamish,

so what do you think was behind it all? A problem in the cache?

    Hi Götz,

A bug, I think, that can usually be worked around as described. A fix may take some time as it is only sometimes triggered, so reproducing is a challenge.

Ah, ok. So you're not entirely certain what finally got it to work? Rather clearing the cache, starting over or wiggling the reconstruction region?
