How to get RC to find features on the relatively smooth render reveals and painted frame of this window opening, instead of finding lots of features on the richly textured wall face and almost ignoring the reveals and frame? The feature-poor reveals and frame create a nasty bubbly mesh, just where I need building-survey accuracy.
In https://support.capturingreality.com/hc/en-us/community/posts/115000777711-Retry-specific-images-in-alignment- Wishgranter suggests turning Max features per mpx down low, so that RC has to work hard with every part of the photo to find enough points to fill the Max features per image allowed.
I haven't found that makes any difference. I could understand if a 12mpx photo was literally divided into say 4 x 3 1mpx areas, so every area had to supply its full quota of features, but no more than. Is that what RC does? If not, I don't see why RC shouldn't still supply the full allowance from the most feature-rich areas.
I've tried taking extreme closeups of the desired smooth areas, excluding as much as poss of the rough wall face
but RC still focuses on the little bit of rough that's visible.
