I am working on a fixed camera rig and optimizing it work with reality capture. I'm looking for the best way to arrange and number cameras for RC alignment and reconstruction.
Is it better for alignment if the images are taken in a spiral arrangement from top to bottom (see version A) or zig-zag in rows from top to bottom around the rig (see version B)
From what I read on your site, it is better to move in circles around your subject, photographing from the top and and going 360 before starting on a lower level (version A)
Please see the attached image and let me know what numbering arrangement is best for Reality Capture, A or B. Keep in mind that the schematic shows only one half of the rig, the actual cameras are arranged 360 degrees around the subject.
Any other resources you can provide for camera placement will be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
