Export .obj problem. My model is insite of some "box"

    That is normal.

    RC tries to create a watertight mesh.

    You can make the reconstruction area a little smaller inside RC and then use the filters to remove the box before exporting.

    Or you can do the post processing in 3rd party software.

    So simple - so why can't RC have a button to do that automatically?

    Still leave a lot of rubbish (indeed seems to create lots of extra spikiness), which is arduous to remove within RC - is it so much easier in 3rd party software? (would that be MeshLab?)

    I don't think that Meshlab would do a much better job than RC with the new filters. I think your idea with a button for a slightly smaller box is quite good - there should be a setting for percent or absolute measurements. Why not make it a feature request? Should be rather simple to implement...

    The problem with your type of scan is that RC cannot tell which side is the 'inside' for the watertight mesh and thus it picks one side (usually the wrong one), calls it inside and adds a (pretty) box that is only restricted by the reconstruction area.

    In the new filtering tool (advanced one), you have one for selecting peripheral polygon.
