How to create a model with different texel resolutions at different places (Not using Adaptive Texel Size)
AnsweredDear All
Is there a way in RC to texture a model, for example, a wall with paintings, with different texture resolutions at different places on the wall. Most of the texture of the wall is not important to me except for some parts, which I want in really high detail.
We would somehow have to tell RC which area needs different texture resolutions. This could be input as a mask or with some other mechanism.
I am aware of 'Adaptive Texel Size', but there is not way to control this.
I am also aware that there is a big gap in my understanding of texture maps :)
The only way I know how to do this, is to split the model in different parts, import them separately and texture them. And open all of them at the same time as different layers in Meshlab. A cleaner solution would be much appreciated.
Thanks for your time

Hello,
You can either use automatic unwrap which decides itself what the texel size and density will look like or a fixed texel size. Currently it's not possible to selectively change the texel size. Although you can try to do such operation outside of RC and import it back for texturing.
