I've been using RC for a while now. However I've always been able to get around the problem when it crashes during Normal Reconstruction. Usually there's not enough RAM, or the hardware isn't sufficient. But now I'm using a top-of-the-line PC and all of a sudden it's always crashing when I run "Normal Reconstruction" on any project.
I've scoured the forums and can't find a solution, so hence, the new post.
- Inter Core i7 9700 CPU @ 3.00 GHz
- 64GB DDR4 Ram
- Geforce 2080Ti 11GB
- Windows 10 Home
- 100GB free on a SSD for RC cache writing
- RealityCapture PPI version - latest edition
I've tried the following:
a) Reset all RC settings to default
b) Windows update and GPU driver updates
c) Uninstall and re-install RC
d) Reconstruction on High Detail (why not?)
e) Re-do the RC alignment project from scratch - start a new project, align and iteratively tag GCPs in a new project
I'm currently resorting to a free photogrammetry processing program which is Linux/Docker based, but as we all probably know, that's horrible compared to RC. I really want to use RC because of it's speed and efficiency, and the fact that it seems to handle mesh reconstruction for aerial surveys using a Mavic 2 Pro (with NADIR and Oblique shots) better than competitors (less noise, faster, better detail).
I've put the crash logs here:
The specific error I run into is:
Typical projects have 500+ photos from a Mavic 2 Pro (20MP). The project I've been butting my head against specifically had 1500 photos, but nothing works.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
