Seashell - Murex Endivia - Hexaplex cichoreum
RCEarthDay challenge accepted. Competitions like this are always a good excuse to try new things, go out and discovered.
I've got the macro lens and headed to the botanical garden with plan to capture bonsai tree, this wind was too strong to produce nice results, but they had this beautiful seashell in their souvenir shop.
I've captured 380 photos using a 24Mpx Sony A5100 with macro lens Laowa 65 mm f/2.8. The shell is only 5cm long, indeed for objects this small the depth of field is a challenge. I would capture many more photos, but I've run out of time for the lens rental.https://www.instagram.com/p/B_1B5xNn1fe/

Not entering the competition, as I don't do Facebook. However, the task motivated me to try, so I participated for myself as a personal challenge. I thought I'd share anyway. The posters above are great - well done guys :) !
My Mother in Nature
With the lock-down in hand, I decided to capture my elderly mother in one of her favorite places in the garden surrounded by plants under the beautiful Wisteria.I approached it with a 'classic' photography point of view, attempting to capture the scene, rather than a complete 360 model. It's more of a 3D facade than a full encapsulated model, however it has depth, features and colour, which hopefully makes it a 'interesting' subject?
Things I learnt / to improve on
Nadir - I think I could have improved on some of the angles.
Reflections - A polarising filter may have assisted with the funky windows.
Get closer - I missed out on some details... #SocialDistancing
Shoot faster - Battling the inevitable movement resulted in some loss of detail.
Wherever my strengths lie - They are not in video creation, I'm disappointed with my presentation.
Maybe I can't hide from social media forever... maybe. This is the result, straight from camera to RealityCapture to export, no pre or post processing at all.
These have just a bit of Bokeh (blame Kai)
And finally the videos. https://www.dropbox.com/sh/pkarwbvaoglivso/AADRie3xq3NpeKw7JV5TdcGAa?dl=0 - Sorry :D

Hi, I was just checking to see the winner of this competition but only noticed that the entry also had to be posted here.
I thought the "Forum" as the Capturing Reality Facebook page which is where I posted a while ago.

This is a beautiful rabbit sculpture I scanned, which reminds me of Watership Down.
I posted it to 2 places on facebook.
