So, it has been awhile since I used RC and I am struggling with aligning some components. Basically I have an object I took two sets of photos of. One with the object standing up and then another with it on its side. I have each set of images aligned in their own component. Now I want to align the components. Right now I can align all of the photos into one component, but it positions the alignments of the objects as they were taken (standing up and side). So I created two components with each aligned set in each. I thought I could use control points that match between the two groups of photos to let RC know how to align the point clouds. It does put them in the same component, but they are not aligned. I have about 6-7 CPs with several images from each set with matching the CPs. Do I need to just keep going until RC figures it out? Or am I doing something wrong? In other software I used I could mask out around the object of interest and so only the points on the object are considered for alignment. Right now since the background of my scene contains a lot of things that get picked up as features RC is using them to align the images. I could not take photos with a curtain up.
Any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.
