Large files keep crashing-- should I upgrade my computer or is there another solution?
AnsweredHi there, I'm relatively new to RealityCapture, and I've been having trouble working with large files, where I'm importing around 1000 4k resolution images (taken from drone footage) to try and build a mesh of a landscape. I can align images, but it always seems to crash while constructing the model. Opening task manager, my computer is running at 100% in processing power and with its memory, so I'm thinking that might be the problem.
Here are my computer specs and components:
AMD - Ryzen 5 1600 3.2 GHz 6-Core Processor
ASRock - AB350 Pro4 ATX AM4 Motherboard
Corsair - Vengeance LPX 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-2400 Memory
Asus - GeForce GTX 1060 6GB 6 GB Dual Video Card
Basically what I want to know is if there's a way to process larger files with 1000+ images without having the program crash with the specs that I have right now, or if I should consider upgrading my RAM or possibly buying another graphics card/upgrading my CPU to a Ryzen 7. What do you guys and girls think?
Below is what generally happens, with a message that says something like "failure to compute parts of the model" (it's a bad paraphrase of the error message, but it was something like that)
