    Hello,

    You can filter out unwanted parts from your mesh. If you have your model displayed you can see SCENE 3D / TOOLS tab. In there you can find Mesh Model tools. Use selection tools to select the unwanted parts (Lasso, Rect, Box, Advanced) and Filter Selection tool to remove those parts from your model. A new model will be created so bare in mind that you will have to create a new texture (or reproject the existing one). 

    Could you please explain what did you mean by ref image? Did you maybe mean masks?

    thanks yeah i am using that tool to remove unwanted parts but I want then have a sattile view of the surrounding area that I have I want to put in so I can remove unwanted bits that overlap the model and the sat view if that makes sense ?

    So you can see if i take it in to may there are bits that I need to cut out the mesh but I would love to be able to bring in this to RC to do it in there as maya does not like cutting up high poly meshes
