    Hi Mark,

regarding layers this tutorial could be helpful: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xo-aBFMv_OQ

In your case it would be better, when the images are captured from one position and have the same resolution. Then they can be used as layers and you can choose which will be used for texturing.

Is it possible to align just thermal images? If so, you can try to merge RGB and thermal dataset and then texture the model twice: once with RGB and once with thermal images.

Both photos were taken at the exact same position. The thermal camera has a different resolution. hence...how can we stitch it together to get a layer ??

Workflow as per the tutorial does not work...

To using layers, all layers for the same image need to share the same camera and object position. Differences in camera positions or slight movement of the object might cause blur in the texture.

Basically, it should be the same images with different colors, as you saw in the tutorial. In your case this is not applied, as the images are different.

Did you try to align just thermal images? Did it work?
