As Jonathan said, your data needs to be georeferenced. If it is not, RC can only guess which way is "up".

What method have you set for texturing? Did you capture the different images during a different time of day? different type of weather?

RC by default creates a watertight mesh. Use the filtering tools available to remove those large triangles.

I would suggest an option to manually define lines on the model where you can tell RC where to split texture islands or maybe even define texture islands on the model that you want to be in one pie...

There are rigs out there using raspberry pi cameras... They will work but don't expect to catch all the tiny details. From what I have seen in on the net in the past few years such a rig will cost ...

A possible solution for your dilemma would be to use a camera rig such as the one shown here: https://photogrammetry.irc.umbc.edu/ But that can be quite expensive to build.

As far as I am aware, RC does not use the sparse point cloud for its reconstruction work. It is only used as feedback of the alignment process (and for preview reconstruction unless you tell RC not...
